Earth Day Weekend in the Garden
While you are out celebrating the fine spring weather remember to stop by the garden.
The Cherry and Magnolia trees are in full bloom the tulip display is underway, and everything is beautiful. In the Vegetable garden woodchips have been laid along the Garden path to soak up puddles ( until we reinstall a more permanent pathway)
There is plenty of work to do, We’ll be there working 11:30-3,4 Saturday and 1 until 4 Sunday.- plant Pansies and water the already planted pansies along the paths of the Flower garden and planted in the beds, watering the Pink Impatiens in the tree pits, and watering the trays of Sweet Williams, Pansies and Violas lined up along the Vegetable Garden Fence, picking up trash, and getting the Compost bins turned and waterbarrels turned. If you have spare half hour- water.
It’s been pretty dry the last week and a half. Be careful if you water in the Tulip beds- put the hose on the ground for ground soaking only DO NOT hold the hose and water from above, it damages the Tulip display. ! We also need a couple of folks to sit by the gate and greet people, and keep an eye on the Contribution Jar. The energetic might like to haul a few books out to sell.
We’ll be there working 11:30-3,4 Saturday and 1 until 4 Sunday.Attention Vegetable Gardeners – there are free vegetable seeds in the toolshed. There’s also fertilizer- and don’t forget the sacks of compost by the gate.
